Query about function in InfoPath

Recently, I am designing a leave application form.
And I encountered problem in one of my field.
In that field <Days>, I would like to apply SUBTRACTION which automatically
calculates the number of days in between two dates which would be entered in
the two previous fields, formula I used is <Enddt - Startdt>. The two
fields are in DATE format respectively. Whenever I test the form, the word
'NaN' would appear in the field <Days>. Could anyone help solve my doubt?
