Query about WSS templates

Hi
I’m using Project Server 2003 and have query about Window Sharepoint
Services templates.
I have successfully created a new template and customize them as per our
requirement with the help document attached with this below link
http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/CustomizeWSStemplate.htm
And that template is now display in Project Web Access, Admin, Manage
Windows Sharepoint Services, Site Provisioning Settings page. But I’m afraid
that if our users use the new template in their new project plans then its OK
but what about the already attached Risk/ Issues/ Documents with old project
plans. Are they still available for use or they removed automatically? I
don’t want to remove the old risk/issues/ documents/ etc.

One more query to ask that is their any method to modify existing WSS
template? If we modify the existing template, is their any chance of data
lose / corruption.

Adding a new template only affects new workspace creation, it does not affect
existing ones, and modifying the existing requires significant code and
depends upon which version of WSS you are using.

This question of retrofit existing is best asked on the Developer News Group.

Warning, if on the new template you deleted any Microsoft standard fields,
you will have problems migrating those sites if you upgrade your WSS.

Hi Sean

Is there any method to delete Existing Template from drop down menu which
are available in Manage Windows SharePoint Services --> Site provisioning
settings --> Site Templates drop down.
Actual I want to delete those templates which are now not in use and the
display in drop down list, which is creating confisuion.

Any suggestion please...
