Query Errors on Multiuser Environment

Good afternoon,

I don't know if this is the right place to post for this problem but I am
hopeful someone call help as the result is in the query window.

We are a multiuser environment, 4 users. On certain occasions we seem to
get an intermittent error that won't let anyone into the database without
much kicking and screaming. After you get everyone to log out, then compact
and repair, there are two sometimes four error queries showing at the last of
the query window. They all relate to specific fields it appears and all
appear in the following format:

~sq_cME-SLB03-sfrmIncompleteWorkOrders~sq_cPitCrewID

The ME-SLB03....refers to the form and the Pit Crew refers to the field but
I can't see to find out where the problem is and why these things are coming
up and it only seems to happen when a new person logs into the database.

Can anyone help with this.

Very grateful for any help received.

I would assume so, isn't that a standard feature. Can you tell me where to
look to see if that is the problem? Thank you,

A good place to start is in your data entry/editing forms.

Open the form in design mode, then right click its title bar to pull up
Properties. Click on the Data property tab and look down the list on the
left until you see Record Locks. In a multiuser environment, this should be
set to "Edited Records" at a minimum, "All Records" where necessary. I
believe it is set to "No Locks" by default.

You can search Access Help for "Record Locks" to see where else this feature
is used.

Okay I'll go and look and see what I can see. Are you able to tell me what
is going on and what these "~sq_c" are mean and might be caused by. I'll post
again with what I found.

Thanks so much,

IEJ
