Query on Relative File Paths

Further to my previous post

I know I have to enter something in the File/Properties dialog box. My question is what do I enter to have the links look in the current directory, and not use absolute paths

My original mesage

I have a large word document, which will contain hyperlinks to other files. I have put those files and the word doucment onto a CD

After having completed this, I find that the hyperlinks to other files do not work as the system seems to be loking for the files on the C: drive rather than the D: drive (my CD drive)

How do I get the hyperlinks to look in the current directory

Hi Laura

Put the path of the current directory into the "Hyperlink base" box in
the File > Properties dialog. Then insert all the hyperlinks. When you
expand the hyperlink fields with Shift+F9, you should see only the
relative path+filename. Save early and often!

When you have all the links inserted, go back to File > Properties and
delete the contents of the hyperlink base box, and save once more.
Close Word and copy the whole batch of documents to the CD.

When you open the document from the CD, that document's folder will be
the current path, and all the hyperlinks will be relative to that CD
folder.
