I have been using a foxpro query (modified) to pull in a list of part
numbers with associated data. The data is set to update in the satellite
spreadsheet when the business system has new part numbers added.
The problem with this is that it gives us fits with vlookups (sometimes the
imports are text, sometimes numbers- so it is a bit troublesome to

worksheet, but now I find it does not update at all- I hit refresh and it
will not refresh.
At first I thought it was having autofilter turned on- but we seem to be
having a few problems with spreadsheet satellite files updating- so I need
to learn a bit more about what interferes with such updates...
What is the best way to import a file into a spreadsheet so that as the
parent file updates, any worksheets will have updated lookup tables to
reference? I have to mention that I name a range in this worksheet after
importing it- but larger than the sheet at the time- so it has room to grow-
I put dummy values that are 9 digit numbers (we have 8 digit part numbers).
As the worksheet expands, it is all in proper numeric order so vlookup
should continue to function.
I do have the autoupdate (refresh) set up to refresh on load, but it does
not seem to work).
My goal is to have a reusable template for determining costs with updated
information... however its not working well just yet new prices or new part
numbers are not being imported into my master template..
Any thoughts ?
