Query problem

Hello I've started to use access at college recently, when on the school computers I run a simple query on my tables and it displays correctly. But on my home computer, which I think has a newer version of access, when I run the query it also displays the empty box for a new record. I can get around this by using the 'group by' selection in totals but it's just an annoying difference. Am I doing something wrong? or is this empty field now supposed to be displayed?

Hi,
Anytime Access considers a query to be 'updateable' you'll see the row to add a new record.
AS to why the difference with the two versions, I can't say.

Are you using a select query in the QBE window? If so the results should
appear the same.

"Group By" reduces the number of records obtained in the query result and is
used to obtain unique (non-duplicated) field values or aggregated results in
numeric fields (Total, Average, Min, Max, etc).
