Querying data of different time frequencies

I have 2 tables that I'd like to compute the Price to sales ratio

1) daily prices with fields of dDate, Tkr, Price - going back 10 years
2) quarterly sales with fields of qDate, Tkr, Sales - going back 10 years

these tables can be joined by date and ticker, but then I'd only be able to
produce a quarterly Price / Sales ratio.

I want to caclulate a daily Price / Sales ratio using the quarterly sales
figure (say from 9/30/05) for each day in the next quarter (10/1/05 -
12/31/05).

Without having sales repeat in a daily table to compute the daily P/S, can
someone help me write the sql so as to use the daily / quarterly table
structure for the PS?

is it doable?
