QueryInterface error in Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Application

Hi,

I'm using Excel automation from in an C# Project with Office XP. Everything
has worked fine since i installed PowerPoint 2000 on the same machine. Since
then i get the error "QueryInterface für Schnittstelle
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Application fehlgeschlagen" in german which
translates to "QueryInterface for interface
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Application not succeeded". this happens
everytime I try to access the Excel.Application object . I already
deinstalled PowerPoint 2000 and reinstalled excel but the error is staying.
How can i fix this error without needing to reinstall my computer.
