questin regarding blacked out cells

I have been emailed a sheet that only A1-L34 visible, the rest of the
rows/columns are blacked out. Short of highlighting colums and rows that are
1,048,576 rows by 16,384 columns and filling black how do I easily fill the
nonprint area making only the active part of the sheet white?

Hi Kim,

Are the unwanted rows and columns really blacked out or simply hidden?

If you want to hide all the columns to the right of your data, select the
first column to the right of your data (click on the column identifier at the
top of the column so that the entire column is highlighted) hold the Ctrl and
Shift keys down and then press the right arrow. (All of the columns to the
right of your data should be highlighted.) On the home ribbon, click on
format (in the Cells block 2nd from the right) ->Hide & Unhide-> Hide columns.

Similarly for the rows under your data. Click on the row number identifier
and hold the Ctrl/Shift keys down and press the down arrow and hide rows.

To Unhide, click on the the position at the very top left of the worksheet
where the column identifiers and row identifiers meet. (The entire worksheet
should be selected). Click on Format->Hide & Unhide->Unhide columns. Repeat
to unhide rows.

no they are really blacked out and protected as you can not click on them to
type in anything
