Question about compatibility of Access and MSP

Hi,
I have a few questions concerning Ms Project Professional (2003).
We are currently using an Access database to manage orders for specific
machines.
Now we would like to introduce MS Project to show and manage capacity
planning, since the graphs are way too complex for Access.
It would require a bi-directional link between Access and MSP and I would
like to know if this is even possible before I pursue this course any further.
I know that I could just save the Project as .mdb file but I need the
password protection ability that is only supported with the .mpp files.
Hope you can give me some info.

Thanks

Access provides password protection as well. Read help on password
protection or security. Note that if you store all your projects in one
Access database you have all your eggs in one basket, so make sure you have
a good backup system!
