I'm not sure the extent to which you need precise instructions. Use Windows
Explorer to copy the files to the floppy; then use Windows Explorer on the
new computer to copy them to the desired location. The default location
where Word looks for documents is shown in Tools - Options - File
Locations - Documents (the location usually is called My Documents). So,
it's not a bad idea to put them there.
Then, simply choose File - Open from Word. Word should do any needed
conversion(s) automatically.
Whatever you do... do NOT open/save the files on floppy directly from Word.
Word creates a number of temporary files on the disk/folder where the
documents reside. These files often are many times larger than the original
file. So, they often don't fit on a floppy diskette. The end result is a
corrupted document and lost work. So, whatever you do, copy the files to
your hard drive before opening/editing/saving them.
