Question about "Normal.dot"...

I have a question about "Normal.dot".

A couple of persons in our company has a problem I haven't
encountered before.
When they are opening a word document they get a pop-up
screen that says that they are missing "#
It is kind of cryptic.

But what they find the most annoying are that when they
want to shut down word they get a pop-up that says that
the Normal.dot has changed and asks if they want to save
the changes. But they can't save the changes because they
don't have permissions and they can't abort it because it
has changed. But they can get around this by aborting
twice, then it works.

I appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks!

I agree - very odd.

Try Start/Search and look for Normal.dot. When it comes up, change its
name - and any others that may show elsewhere other than "Templates". Then
reboot.

The replacement, which is produced automatically, may not have the problem.

Good luck,

Ed
