Question about Project 2002 Pro and Server in Domain

Hello folks, one simple question:
Is it possible to log in to Project Server 2002 (SQL Server, Windows authentification) which resides in Windows 2000 Server Domain from client Project 2002 Pro NOT connected to domain?
'Cause when I try to do this, first, I'm asked for username, password, domain, then I get this:
[State=01000][Error=1326][Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server
Driver][dbnmpntw]ConnectionOpen (CreateFile()).
[State=08001][Error=1326][Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Unable
to connect to data source
When I try to connect using Internet Explorer from client not connected to domain, all works.
