Question about PST files

S

SANJAY PURI

I had saved a PST file of my Outlook contacts in Nov of last year in a
backup. In all probability (I know, this is embarassing), I had created the
PST in Outlook for Office XP.

Now when I try to open the PST using Outlook 2003, the program doesn't
recognize the file.

Any suggestions? Can someone please help?

Thanks,

Sanjay Puri [MSFT]

There should be no compatibility problem with Outlook 2003 reading an older
PST file. The only problems you'd have would be in opening a new unicode
format OL2003 PST file in an older version.

Did you perhaps burn a CD and try to open the PST file from there? Copy the
PST file to your hard drive and remove the read-only attribute, and then try
to open it in Outlook...(file | open).

The file is perfectly compatible. What makes you think it isn't?
