Question about SmartKeys 3.4.1 a utility for word

I downloaded shareware SmartKeys 3.4.1 Flux Software Utility for a specified
purpose in my word 2001. It will enable the use of a modifier, along with
'caps lock' in order to prevent the irritating and accidental pressing of
the caps lock key when, for instance, typing the 'a' key, and creating
capital letters when I don't want them.

I have set it to 'option' + 'capslock'. When those keys are entered,
capslock will not function until I type 'option' + 'capslock' a second time.
If capslock is touched it will not turn typing into capitals.

It really works well for me, but has one problem that I have not been able
to solve. When the function is set, I cannot press the space bar or a key,
and get them to move, repeating the character or space, the way those are
supposed to work ordinarily.

The creator of SmartKeys hasn't been able to solve the problem other than to
say that some versions of OS 9 or 9.2.2 came out from Mac different than
others.

Has anyone used SmartKeys (3.4.1) and come up with this problem and found a
solution?

Rafael
