Question about what happens you decline a meeting notice

A recurring meeting was set, one of the recipients declined just one of the
meetings. When he looked in his calendar, the rest of the recurring meetings
were removed from his calendar... Isnt outlook suppose to prompt to choose
all recurring, or just the one?....
