Question On Columns?

E

Ed Suhovsky

I just started using 2003 Professional, our next steps will be to evaluate 2003 Server.

I went through the Project Standard 2003 Demo http://www.microsoft.com/office/project/prodinfo/demo.msp
and my Manager likes the "Schedule Status" Field. (He likes the Colors?

Well is seems that there is no Column called "Schedule Status"

Does anyone know how to turn this field on? or is this a VB add on?

Thank

The Schedule Status column is not a default field in Microsoft Project, but
is created by using a custom field (Tools - Customize - Fields). The field
is created by entering a formula in the field which determines the schedule
status of a task according to your company's own methodologies for date
variance. The field is then set up to display an indicator, such as a
stoplight symbol, in place of the value generated by the formula. Hope this
helps.

Hello Ed,

Have you tried the "Status Indicator" field (in a task view such as the
Gantt Chart) ?

This is a renamed Text, Date, Cost, Number or Flag field (There might be a
couple of other possibilities). Let's use a Text field.

Click on View | Gantt to display the Gantt chart and then insert a text
column ("Text1").
RightMouseButton on the column header and click on "Customize Fields ..."
Click on the "Rename" button, enter "Status Indicator" and click on ok.
This will set the name in the column header.
Click on the "Graphical Indicators" button and enter conditions that will
establish a condition and select the image that is to be displayed.
