Question on Project IDs and Site Addresses

Kevin

I have just set up Project Server 2003 for a client on SBS 2003. The client
does not like that the Site Addresses are generated using the Project ID
number such as http://myprojectsite/sites/project_101 corresponding to the
project ID number 101. Is there a way to utilize more useful names?

TIA

Kevin

Kevin, this is an internal generated Project ID, which is actually the unique
Project Id within Project Server. You can't change this ID.
Sorry

Thanks for your reply. I figured you couldn't but what I am really
wondering is -- sorry for the lack of clarity -- is there a way to have the
project site URL use the friendly name rather than the Project ID?

Hi Kevin,

You may want to have a look in "Manage Windows SharePoint Services" sites
under "Manage SharePoint Sites". You do have the abillity to "Edit Site
Adress". This functionality allows you to change the URL.
I hope this helps
