Question on the Web Services Helper

I got the latest V12 Web Services Helper and checked the class for the new
SharePoint Files Tool. It doesn't seem like the synchronization between
Groove and SharePoint is exposed through the web services. Can anyone confirm
that please? If not, is there anyway to do that?

Hi Ken -

I too think it is missing, but from the underlying web service rather than
just from the helper library.

Hi Ken,

You can configure the synchronization with SetWSSProperties, but you cannot
initiate it. Look in the GrooveFilesBase64 Web Service section of the Help
for more information. The other Files operations (Create, DeleteFile, etc.)
will also work in the SharePoint Files tool.

The Groove WebService will let you configure the SharePoint Files Tool
settings (essentially just the URL of the SP Document Library and the Groove
Identity responsible for syncing), but you cannot initiate the actual
synchronization through the web service. You have to manually click the
"Synchronize" button, or manually set the synchronization schedule. There
also doesn't seem to be any way to set a SharePoint Files Tool to synchronize
automatically without manually setting it each time a new SP Files Tool is
created; it always defaults to Manual.

In my opinion, this is one of the biggest shortcomings in Groove. It's a
great tool with a lot of capability, but we only started using it because of
the SharePoint integration, and it would be nice to have a little bit more
control over automating this whole piece.
