"Question to the owner of": RE replying to author - proof it was sent

I

In_the_wilderness

To the owner (or majordomo), of MICROSOFT.PUBLIC.MAC.OFFFICE.EXCEL

Did my first posting the other day. Got helpful ideas from group.
Replied to each of two authors (and thought I cc'd myself); however,
no cc emails came to me. And no replies from them has appeared.

How do I know my reply to author(s) went thru successfully?

Is it better to post reply to the group as whole?

It is always better to post to the group, so anyone interested can follow
the thread. Most of the MVPs here have pretty strong spam filters, so your
reply may not have gotten to them.

Hi,

In many cases, people posting in NGs don't supply a valid email address. See mine for example. In that case, replying direct to the
poster simply means your reply will never get delivered.

Hello Wilderness -

You might have a look here:

http://word.mvps.org/FindHelp/Posting.htm

If there is a need to email directly most will provide a valid addy at that
time as well as other instructions for getting your message through spam
filters, etc.
