Questions about resource availability

Hi,

I have a project server 2003 customer who has been asking me some questions
about resource availability I cannot answer.

1. When the user first goes into Resource Center, there is some text below
the graph that says "Warning: Availability data has not been published for
one or more resources in the selected date range." When you refresh the
page, the message goes away. Do you know what circumstances give rise to
this message (i.e. what causes it)? The reason for asking is that on the
OLAP settings page, it is assumed that when you specify a date range for
calculating resource availability, it includes ALL resources. So how can it
be that one or more resources' availability has not been published when you
look at that same date range in Resource Center?

2. The user has also been browsing resource availability data directly in
the MSP_RES_AVAIL_FACT cube in Analysis Manager. He came across a measure
called "Temporary Availability" - what is this, and what is its relationship
to Availability?

3. When you look at a Resource's Availability in MS Project Professional,
you can view an availability graph up to the year 2050. How does Project Pro
generate this, and why is this information not available in PWA? What areas
of PWA depend on the Resource Availability information in the OLAP cube?
Essentially, the user is asking what is the purpose of the resource
availability date range in the OLAP settings page, if the information
already exists elsewhere (i.e. it is accessible to Project Pro)

Hoping somebody can answer....

Regards,

Tony
