questions on picture display and updates -- Office XP/2002

Two questions on Office XP/2002:

a) I recently replaced my old graphics card with an ATI Radeon 9550 with 256
mb of video RAM. If I use any resolution greater than 1024 x 768, pictures
in Publisher 2002 or Word 2002/XP do not display. All I get are the four
corner circles indicating a picture is there and the Picture toolbar pops
up. PowerPoint 2002/XP displays images just fine. I would like to use higher
resolutions, but not having the pictures display is a real downer.

b) perhaps related, maybe not: when I visit the Office Update site, after
examining the Office program I have, the site lists "Service Pack 3 for
Office 2003" as a critical update. I don't see anything indicating that this
SP would apply to Office XP/2002 as well and I only have XP/2002 running on
this computer.

Can someone offer any guidance on either or both of these issues?

Thanks
Paul S.

On the first issue, make sure you have the most current drivers. Do not
assume that it shipped with them.

Also, try the following:
Control Panel - Display - Settings - Advanced - Troubleshoot, and drag the
Hardware acceleration slider down.

Hi, the driver update (there was one posted just recently) fixed the
problem. Thanks very much.

Any thought on the question regarding the Office Update?

Thanks again

Updates are version specific.
