Queue Failures

David F-H

We are running Project Server 2007, and occasionally get messages like the
following :

"Your queue job ReportingProjectPublish failed. Please contact your
administrator for assistance"

Is there any action (as administrator) that I should be doing? I assume
this means that the reporting database mayy be out of synch with the
Published database - is there a way to do a full rebuild of the reporting
database ?

publishing the exact error will help.

Also, have you customised risks/issues/deliverables lists?

Thanks Paul & Stephen,

The full error message is as below. And yes, I have customised the Issues
and Risks (several months ago, no changes recently) to incorporate a larger
selection of categories.

I am having the exact same error and code as David, but is there an answer to
his last post?

Thanks-
Sandra

Sandra:

The error codes are general non-descriptive errors that require additional
information to make sense of. If you're serious about troubleshooting your
problem, start your own post, post your error messages, describe your system
and the steps that caused the problem.

Hello Gary,
Would you have any further advice on my post - it seems to have stopped in
its tracks. I provided the error text, and Paul hinted that possibly
customisation of isues / risks were involved ? However, we have about 50 PMs
who are continually making changes so it can be difficult to determine a
sequence of events if it is something to do with project saves / publishes /
etc. I have found a blog on rebuilding the Reporting DB - is this a
recommended practice ? I tried it in test, and it generated 100's of jobs
(that all worked OK) - but I worry about doing it in production in case of
failures, and how to recover.

It might help to delete the project from the published and reporting
database and try publishing again. Don't delete the project from the draft
database, and make an administrative backup before trying this.

I have a project that I am trying to delete from the published (only)
database because I believe it is corrupt. However, the delete job
hangs at 8% complete. Is there any other way to delete the published
version of this project?

Do you see error messages in the queue? The ULS logs?
