When I click on the Outlook quick launch icon Outlook opens twice (2 personal
folders). It's not the mouse button faulty. If you use the keys and tab to
the outlook icon on the desktop it sometimes opens twice? Any idea's anyone?
If I were to copy al lthe data from the outlook folders could I re-install
outlook and copy back in the old folders and still have all me email account
details in place?
Thanks
Joe.

if you open two windows in outlook then close it using the file menu, two
will open next time. close the extra using the x button. also, if /recycle
is not on the QL shortcut's command line, a new window will open each time
it's clicked. This does not mean two copies are running - just that you have
two windows open.

I have a customer experiencing the exact same issue. Brand new install
of Win XP Pro. I installed Office 2003 Pro and configured his email
account. Was working correctly. within two weeks he called to state
that now when using the Quicklaunch or thru Start/Programs/Microsoft
Office/Outlook2003, two Outlook windows are opening. One full screen
and one reduced sized screen.
I had him create a new local admin account and logoff and on as the new
user. Launched Outlook and configured Outlook with his settings and
that is now working correctly. This points back to a configuration of
some sort in his original account. I have no clue where the problem
lies. The only thing i can think of would be to export his personal
Mailbox and then delete his mailbox and recreate and then see if that
resolves the issue. If anyone else has a better idea, please respond
back.
Thanks,
Bill.
