Quick n' easy question - read only access

Hi! This should be simple (I hope). I have a split
database and I need to give certain users only read-only
access. I tried using the switch in the icon(pointing to
the front end) but they can still modify the data.
What's the easiest way to accomplish this?

PS - I have not implemented the MS Access security
groups/permissions nor do I want to (too simple a
database).
