Quick Parts Text Getting Lost

Hello,

I saved my email to Quick Parts, and it works just fine. Now however,
anytime I add a new Quick Parts entry, it's only good while Outlook 2007 is
up and running. If I shut down Outlook, I lose any new entries, though my
email entry is still there (weird...).

I checked the Security tab from the properties of NormalEmail.dotm and I
have full rights to the file. I hope someone can help me with this, It was a
problem before with Word 2003 and my autotext entries. I even created a
separate template for those (per some MVS suggestions) and loaded that
template at startup. I could write an autotext entry, but it was only good
till I shut down. Argh!!! It's very frustrating. I really hope someone here
knows what I'm doing wrong, or whether it's even me or Outlook.

I think I'll go see if I get the same problem in Word 2007.

Thank you for any help or advice you're able to give.

OK, well...I tested Word 2007 and it worked like I expected it to work: I
created text, highlighted it, went to the Insert tab, clicked on Quick Parts
and saved it...actually to Buidling Blocks.dotx, but then using the Building
Blocks Manager, I was able (it seems) to move it from buildingblocks.dotx to
normal.dotm. I exited and came back and my entries were still present.

Hmmm...I just tried creating an entry in Outlook 2007 again, and this time
it appears to have worked. Maybe a fluke the last time? I'm going to reboot,
not just exit Outlook, and see if that works. If so, gremlins. I'll post
again in a few minutes.

OK...gremlins. Or PEBCAK. Sigh... Pay no attention to the man behind the
curtain. I'm just glad it's working. It's a great feature, though I still
wish we could share quick parts between Word and Outlook. Still, it's not
that hard to add in both places. Maybe that Building Blocks Manager will be
able to move them back and forth some day.

On to the next problem!
