Dale, Gary, how's everthing going? I apologize for complicating your life
but I too have a 0X80004005 question.
I've read through ALL the post in regard to error 0x80004005.
We've been on SP1 since late last year. No spooler errors to speak of
except when a PM attempts to publish a project with local resources. Not a
big deal, a slap on the wrist usually resolves this.
On 04/17 we installed WSS on the Project Server. To avoid any configuration
hassels we reinstalled Project Server 2003 also. We reapplied SP1 for WSS
and Proejct Server 2003.
Starting on 4/18 our PM's started experiencing 0x80004005 errors each time
they ran an UPDATE, (to update actuals), from PWA. I checked the permissions
in Viewdrop and verified. Permissions are assigned correctlym, no changes
needed here. Also, this happens on all Projects, for all PM's.
The UPDATES to the actuals are succesful, despite the 0x80004005 spooler
error.
In the Spooler Window, we can either click retry the action on undo. Either
action removes the spooler error. Either action has no impact on the update
to the project, the actuals still apply. At this point this appears to be
just BIG inconvenience for our PMs.
Ironically, the EVENT LOG recorded doesn't actually list 0x80004005 error
message indicated in the spooler, it list a 0x80040213 error. In fact I'm
thinking the 0x80040213 error's, pasted below from our Event LOG, are not
related to this issue at all!
Any ideas? (Event logs pasted below)
