Quick Question re Searching Contacts...

Hi

In Outlook 2000 and earlier, when you selected the Contacts folder (through
either the Outlook Bar or through a folder list), immediately you could
start typing the surname of the person you were looking for (such as "smi"
when looking for "smith") and Outlook would commence looking for that
contact.

For example, if you typed in "smi", Outlook would move to the first contact
(alphabetically) whose name commenced with "smi", such as "smiley" etc.

In Outllook XP it appears that this functionality, whilst not being totally
removed, has been somewhat stunted. To get Outlook XP to move to the first
listing of "smi..." you have to first 'select' a contact and then commence
typing the letters of the name required.

It is a small matter but was always mighty convenient in earlier versions of
Outlook.

Any comments appreciated.
