Quick View Plus insists on opening attachments the wrong way

I have Quick View Plus and I like its ability to open files for me inside its
Viewer. However, when it does not know the file type, it messes up many time
by not opening up using the application. Instead, it shows raw data in its
viewer.

I have tried all the settings in the Viewer but nothing seems to work.

How does quickview plus take over attachment opening in Outlook ? Maybe I
can change OL settings to make file type .foo get opened by fooApp.exe (for
example).

More info:
I create a file type .foo and associate in HKCR\.foo\shell\open\command to
the full path for fooApp.exe

Clicking on the file of type test.foo brings up the application.
