Quickie / Form Subform

I have a form, f1.
I have a subform, s1.
There is a field on s1 titled [ID].

I want to use that [ID] field as criteria in a query.

Microsoft shows:

Forms![main form name]![subform control name].Form![control name]

I can't seem to get anything like this to work. What am I doing wrong? TIA!

Thank you for the reply!

It ended up that Access named my subform (q1) after the query when I
dragged the subform onto the mainform.

Consequently, when I created my reference, my subform name (s1) and
what access named my subform (q1) on the main form did not match.
Refering to s1 kept erroring out. I simply opened the main form,
renamed the embedded subform (q1) to s1 and it works. :^)
