What is QUICKSHELF? IS IT A QUICK STORAGE AREA FOR WORD
DOCS OR WHAT EXACTLY?

It's a reference manual on how not to SHOUT on newsgroups.

Seriously it's a toolbar from the old Microsoft Bookshelf product for
accessing individual Bookshelf references.

Thanks! Hope I wasn't "shouting". I guess I have a
Bookshelf program then on my CD? I know I have an older
version from my Windows 98 / Home Office discs that came
with a'98 Dell computer. This is an HP laptop which I
boughtthis summer with Office PRO XP. Is Bookshelf there?

Unlikely, but I guess you could always check yourself :)

Nope. MS ceased including it after Office 97. I believe it was only
available via OEMs anyway.
