Quicktime controller in presentations

Matthew Hindson

Running Powerpoint v.X in 10.3.5.

I've inserted an AIFF sound file into a presentation as a Quicktime movie in
the hope of getting the controller into the presentation. While I can get
it to appear in Normal view, I can't work out a way to get it to appear in
the Slide Show: all that appears is the big Q graphic (it plays normally).

Does anyone know of a way to get the controller in the Slide Show view?

Thanks

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

PowerPoint help says to do the following:

Show or hide PowerPoint Movie player controls
1. On the File menu, click Make Movie.
2. In the dialog box that drops down, click Movie Options.
3. Under Media settings, select or clear the Show movie player controls
check box.

Did you?

You can't bring up individual controls for QT in presentation mode!!!! ...
Which is what the guy is asking for, rather than a powerpoint movie!!!!!

As a lecturer in Biology I have loads of QT clips to run in class that I
like to use along with powerpoint ... the way I get around it (for those QT
clips that I really must control rather than straight play through, is by
having the QT clip with control strip (edit with QT pro if needs be) and
linking out of Powerpoint into say Explorer and use it that way ...... real
pain .... I sometimes wonder if the guys that programme this software have
ever really tried to use it!!!! .... mind you the same problem also exists
on Keynote as far as I understand!!!!

That's right, thanks for the workaround. Time to put another feature
request in to Microsoft it seems...
