With Vista all my PowerPoint presentations that work with XP play Quicktime
movie .avi clips as Media Player clips and all I get is visualizations. I
have changed the "Set Associations" to play them as a QuickTime player but it
is not recognised when I use PowerPoint

So these are AVI clips created with QuickTime, right? They were inserted
into which version of PPT onWindows XP how?

In Vista, the video doesn't play, is that correct? You get visualizations
instead?

The .avi clips are on a CD Rom. These are inserted into the presentation by
Insert - Movies and Sounds - Movie from file.
They were created using Office 2003. It seems to be a Vista problem as I
reinstalled Office 2003 onto the computer running Vista and I still get
visualizations It works perfectly in my other computers. The files play as a
QuickTime file if not used within PowerPoint

I think you should get PFCMedia, let it convert the files to WMV and insert
them, and be done with it. http://www.pfcmedia.com
