quicktime movie

Hi,
I am trying to add a quicktime movie to my website.
I have made the movie -- no audio and only about 10 seconds long.
I have uploaded the movie to my web server.
I can see the initial "Still frame" on my frontpage.
But when I launch into that page on the web it only shows the little icon of
an image and the movie does not play.
Am I missing something all together here or what?
I am confused.
Do I need special software on the server to serve these movie files?
Do I need to do something other than INSERT|PICTURE|VIDEO to get the movie
online?
Any suggestions would help.
Also, if I am not giving enough info here I'll supply more.

I did download and use the Spawn thing but that didn't work either.
