quicktime movies won't play in pointwerp 2004

I have office 2004 installed on a macbook running leopard and cannot get quicktime (.mov) movies to play in a powerpoint slide presentation. they work when in normal view, but not in the slide show, whether i choose play automatically or click to play. is there something simple i am missing? is there some incompatibility with office 2004 and leopard?

the movie clips were obtained from a TS video file, saved as a .avi, then converted to .mov with quicktime pro. is there maybe something in the conversions that is hindering it? a missing codec?

also tried using the .avi file, as well as just about any other file format i had the ability to convert to, but no love.

am fed up...can anyone help??

Hi,

PowerPoint itself does not play the movies. It relies upon Apple¹s
QuickTime. If it plays in QuickTime it should also play within a PowerPoint
slide show.

I have a faint recollection that this was a problem in an early released
build of PowerPoint 2004. Have you installed the updates? Use Help > Check
For Updates to find out if your copy is up to date.
