Quirky Rules Issue with Entourage Web Services Edition

Hi,

I have a rule set up that forwards certain messages to an office colleague. Ever since I installed Web Services Edition, when this rule is applied it sends multiple copies of the message to that person and doesn't stop until I deactivate the rule. My thought is that this is not normal.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office, deleted and recreated my profile, and deleted and recreated this specific rule. I would like to know if this is a known issue and if so how to resolve it.

Thanks.

It's not a known issue. The actual Rule file can become corrupt. In the
Finder, delete the Rule file or move it out of the Identity folder to let
Entourage create a new blank one. Create the rule in the new file. Does it
work? If not, can you write out your rule here so we can spot the problem?

Do you see just one or do you see two of these forwarded messages in
your Sent Items folder? If just one, then the problem is more likely
with your Exchange Server.

Hope this helps!

Hi William,

No, there are individual entries in the sent items and they look like I am forwarding the message, then forwarding that message, etc... For example:

------ Forwarded Message
From: Mitch Axness <>
Date: Mon, 5 Oct 2009 10:32:16 -0500
To: Cindy Schwartz <>
Subject: FW: LDAPSync (New Account)

------ Forwarded Message
From: Mitch Axness <>
Date: Mon, 5 Oct 2009 10:32:11 -0500
To: Cindy Schwartz <>
Subject: FW: LDAPSync (New Account)

------ Forwarded Message
From: "(e-mail address removed)" <>
Date: Mon, 5 Oct 2009 10:25:55 -0500
To: newacctnotify <>
Subject: LDAPSync (New Account)

It seems like the rule thinks the message is repeatedly coming into my inbox but this all happens within about 2-3 seconds of each other.

Hi Diane,

I tried that but it repeats the issue.

Thanks

I checked the server side and there are no rules in place there. Also, it worked just fine BEFORE I installed the Web Services Edition.

Create a new Identity in Entourage and let it sync back up to the server.
Does the problem go away?
