Quirky view of bullets

Has anyone ever experienced the following?

Anytime that a word document that contains bullets is
shown on a users pc the bullets are changed to
checkboxes. This occurs on documents that the user
created and also those that others send to him. The
bullets that are used are the small black ones that are
part of the normal template. Any ideas? Could an
internal word setting be overriding this? Thanks!!

on your menu bar you can go to format, then bullets and
numbering and change the bullet type there. once you
select the specific bullet that you want, click ok, and
each time you click on the bullet button, your bullet that
you choose will appear. when you want to change it, then
go back to formar, then bullets and numbering.

Thanks you for your response. We know how to change the
bullet. We wanted to avoid him having to do that with
each and every document that he opens.
