quit on cell color

suddenly when I attempt to color a cell, I have unexpected quit. Using
Excel 2004 for Mac version OSX.4.3.

Does this happen in all workbooks? If so, try, with XL closed, deleting
the

~:Library:preferences:Microsoft:com.microsoft.Excel.prefs.plist

and perhaps

~:Library:preferences:Microsoft:com.microsoft.Office.prefs.plist

files (where ~ is your home directory).

If it only happens in one workbook, it's possible that the offending
workbook is corrupt. Transfer the contents to a fresh workbook (via Copy
and Paste, not moving the sheets).
