Quitting Entourage

I'm using Microsoft Office 2004 on a MacBook with Tiger. I don't have problems with Entourage crashing. I have problems in that it won't quit. It prevents sleep, shutdowns, etc., because the color ball just keeps turning. I have to force quit. This has just been going on recently. Suggestions?

Check for some third-party applications that might be interfering with
Entourage quitting. Log out/in to your User. Hold the Shift key down to
disable any startup items from launching. Does this help. If yes, then look
to your startup items. If no, then testing in a new User will quickly tell
you if the problem is system wide or if it¹s your User¹s folder that
contains the problem.
