Quotation marks appear

I imported a about a thousand contacts from an Excel spreadsheet into Entourage. For no discernible reason, a lot of them came through with quotation marks around the name or company name, throwing off our ability to sort. I went through painstakingly removing them all, and put it all in a shared contacts list in the Public folder of our Exchange server. I subscribed to this folder and added it to my Favorites bar. After a week or so,it disappeared off my Favorites bar, and when I added it to the bar again, the whole list had to reload from the server and I had lost all my client side info, such as categories, and the quotation marks reappeared. This has happened about 3 times now and it's driving me crazy.

You get quotation marks when importing a CSV, try to convert the contacts to
TXT - tab delimited in Excel and then import, this format should not give
you the quotation marks.
