Microsoft has something called a KnowledgeBase. Try searching it.

I tried the KnowledgeBase already. I was wondering if they
updated their methodology from Excel 98.

OK, taking this at face value, the following thread, specifically the response
from David J. Braden, implies that the algorithm underlying RAND() has changed
in Excel 11 (aka 2003).
