Random Images from old PP not appearing in PP 2003

My IT 'team' recently installed Office 2003 on my machine. When I open
existing documents on a network drive, some slide images (app. 25%) are not
being displayed,. Instead, blank slides (With the slide template showing) are
being displayed with blank image boxes that say 'please add text'. I have
installed the latest security updates, as well as the Office 2003 Service
Packs, and am still having this issue. My IT team has not idea what is wrong
(seriously, we are a company of >50,000 people, how can they not fix this?).

Please help me,

thanks.

Check and see if the Office Service Packs were installed when they installed
O2003. To find out, go to Help--> About PowerPoint and check to see if there
is a service pack noted at the end of the first line of text. If there
isn't, close that window/dialog box and go to Help--> Check for updates.
This will bring up the Office Online site. Follow the links and get your
updates.

(OR call the IT team back and tell them to come add the service packs to
your machine.)

Check Help|About to make sure the Office 2003 SP really was installed.
You'll see it listed there if it was --something like "MS Office PPT 2003
(11.6564.6568) SP2." The symptoms you're describing are a classic case of
"no service pack-itis."

Either SP2 or even SP1 should take care of it.
