Random object when i launch word

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Small yellow box saying page:2 sits on desk top when word is launched. Does not move as document is moved. its in the way, on top of doc and it wont go away!!

Since you don't give the specifics the first thing is that you have both
Office & OS X fully updated. Once that has been done run Disk Utility -
Repair Disk Permissions, then restart to see if that resolves it.

If not, reply with any additional details you can supply including what
methods you're using to launch the program, etc. I've not heard of this
before & have no idea how anything about the program itself could be
generating such an artifact. It might be a good idea to fetch the OS X
10.5.8 COMBO update & apply it [even if you're already at that build of the
OS].

That's a display artefact caused by an incomplete screen re-draw. The box
concerned will appear if you hover your mouse over the vertical scroll bar,
but it's supposed to go away.

Might be time to restart your computer: when issues like this persist, it
can indicate that the system is struggling to find enough large slices of
clean memory.
