Random page breaks when PC user opens my Word for Mac file

I have adjusted my settings to save in Word 97-2004 format, but some of my clients are encountering very random page breaks in my Word documents when they open them. The docs are heavily formatted with lots of styles, tables, etc but it is all pretty standard stuff.

Any suggestions?

It's pretty tough to tell without seeing what's going on, but the first
thing I'd suspect is the difference in printer drivers combined with the use
of manual page breaks, possibly compounded by font variations.

The difference in printers usually doesn't make a "big" difference, but it
can be enough to cause text to reflow. If that happens the manual page
breaks reflow as well & can wind up shifting into unwanted locations.

Fonts can also contribute to the problem. If the fonts aren't the same ones
on both systems it will contribute to the reflow problem... And just because
they have the same name doesn't mean they're exactly the same font.
