random sampling TEXT

Let's say if there are 24 peoples with their IDs as following:

1 A
2 B
3 c
4 d
5 e
6 f
7 g
8 h
9 i
10 j
11 k
12 l
13 m
14 n
15 o
16 p
17 q
18 r
19 s
20 t
21 u
22 v
23 w
24 x

If I want to randomly sample 5 people with their IDs and names,
how do I do it?
I've tested it. I can have five random IDs, but cannot have their
corresponding names.

Hi,

Withe your names and ID No's in columns A & B put the formula

=Rand() in C1 and drag down to C24
Select all the columns of data and then
data|Sort
Sort on column C and the top 5 will be randomely chosen
Tap F9 and sort again for a different set.
