Hello,
There are three of us using Frontpage 2002 to edit websites stored on a
webserver running Server 2003. One of us has an issue with his; when he
tries to open a website Frontpage will just randomly shut down. This happens
if he uses the Frontpage button that was installed on Internet Explorer or if
he launches the program manually from the start menu. No error messages show
up at the time of shutdown, but when he restarts Frontpage he gets a dialog
box asking if he wants to start it in safe mode because it wasn't shut down
properly. Also, the event viewer in Windows doesn't show anything out of the
ordinary.
We have checked all the sites he is trying to access against the other two
computers and they function properly, and have even gone as far as to
reinstall Frontpage extensions on one of the sites to see if that would help.
There doesn't seem to be anything common between the sites - some are real
basic in design (no tables or anything else fancy) and some are full-blown
layouts. The sites seem to be rendering fine in Internet Explorer on his
computer as well.
All we have done so far is to try reinstalling Frontpage, but that didn't
help any. Any suggestions on what to check on next so we can figure out what
the problem is? Thanks for any assistance.
