Hi Dominic,
Rational Requsite Pro and Microsoft Project are tools designed to address
different needs. One is requirements definition, the other i sproject
scheduling. It is unlikely that there will be a direct match between the
requirements defined in Requiste Pro and the activities in Microsoft
Project. If your contact expects there to be a match its highly likely that
they aren't using the products in the correct way or their expectations are
misplaced.
More usually a task in a plan would be "Requirementd definition" and this
would link in some way to the document created by Requisite Pro, either as a
URL Hyperlink or (in EPM) as a link in the Sharepoint Workspace.
The only product I have ever seen and come across that directly converts
(bi-drectionally) between Requirements definition and Project is a product
called Catalyze Pro by SteelTrace. This uses MS Word to create the document,
utlises workflow and is bi-directional between the plan and requirements
doc. But, IMHO, this has limited application because most companies simply
don't work this way.
Hope this helps.
Regards
James
