RBS integration with an existing application

We have an employee database in which we have some sort of RBS structure.

But we have been using Project's RBS. But now due to the number of changes
in RBS from time to time, there is a need to integrate the two RBS. We want
that the RBS changes in our internal application automatically gets updated
in Project's RBS.

While digging on the topic I've found two references of RBS in SQL tables.
MSP_WEB_RESOURCES
msp_view_Res_ent

Q1. Just want to know if any one have done such thing or not. Need some
reference material & suggestions to start with.

Q2. Is it possible to synchronize the Project RBS with the department
information in Active Directory User properties? That would be a lot better.
Something 'AD Synchronization' can update in every sync.

The active directory sync does not do what you want. It is possible, using
custom code, to do what you want. RBS information is stored in
msp_outline_codes and msp_code_fields. The msp_view fields get updated on
the publish process.
