Hi

I am trying to create a second index in a master document. I have gone added
the field with ctrl f9, used { "c:\\folder\\doc.doc"}. If I type RD before
the "C:\\ the whole field disappears. I think I have sorted that out but
don't know how. When I update the main index, it does reference the second
document but it adds the info to the first main index so I just get one big
index instead of 2.

Anyone any ideas??

RD fields are formatted as Hidden text - to see them you must show hidden
text - click the show/hide button (the paragraph mark icon) on the standard
toolbar - or got to Tools > Options >View tab and check the option there.

Thanks for clearing that up. My second problem with this is I want 2 indexes
in the same document. I already have the main index but I would like to add a
summary index. I have created the XE fields in the second document and the
index is created OK.

When I update the main index in the 1st document, it does reference the
second document but it adds the info to the first main index so I just get
one big index instead of 2 seperate ones.
