Hi John Vinson
in windows live mail, if you are in news groups, and have a "post, comment"
open, and you click "new" from the menu bar
a window opens very like an email window, if you are not paying attention
you could easily mistake them

if you are in inbox and click "new" there, then you get the normal private
email window
the menu bar is much the same for both
